2024 BIG BOARD

It's time for a final look at the leader board, and all teams with a .500 record through Week 27.
​​​​
The Top Ten teams remain essentially the Top Ten Teams, with little movement. Chad Morken's JET CITY WOLVES finished on top with a 14 game lead.
​​
Holding on to 2nd was Joe Haren's SCOOBY DOO (-14); the Commish's LONE GUNMEN moved up to 3rd (-15); Joe's KING OF THE ROAD move up 1 slot into 4th (-15) and Joe's BROADWAY JOE drop back one slot to 5th (-17).

Rounding out the Top Ten ... Joe's THE DUDE held on to 6th (-22); Jeff Young's CHIEFS RETURN held on to 7th (-22) and​​​ Joe's BIG DADDY held on to 8th (-26); Tom Burniski's REDBIRDS were the sole new member, finishing up 4 slots in 9th (-28); and Sly Asselin's MARINERS dropped 2 slots into 10th (-29).

While Chad's JET CITY WOLVES 19 wins may have been the most over the final 3 weeks, a nod goes to the hottest 3 teams over the same period: Tom's REDBIRDS, Ben Torres' IRONPIGS and Tyler Caudill's GRANNY ON A ROOF, all which posted 18-3 marks.

The biggest move on the Board was made by Tyler's GRANNY ON A ROOF who jumped 22 slots from #50 all the way to #22.

Just 2 teams moved onto the Board over the final 3 weeks: Ben's NOSE DIVE (#47) and Chad's LEAF VILLAGE (#50).

While we celebrate the achievements of the teams who made the Big Board, we would be remiss if we didn't point out that - for the most part - teams in the Top Ten are typically ruling "non-competitive" leagues. So while their record is indicative of dominance, it more likely represents a major lack of parity.
​
The Harris was the only league without a 100+ win team. Using the benchmark of 99 wins, as a league best and 87 wins as a respectable finish, 5 leagues failed the "stress test". Led by the IAO, with 5 teams below 87 wins, they were followed with 4 teams under - the Griffith, Landis, McCarthy and Spalding.

Further, the gap between the teams with the best 2 records also show a lack of parity: Barrow and Rickey 22 games, and the McCarthy a whopping 40 games! To illustrate, the difference from 1 to 8 in the Harris was only 22 games.
